*AOCOED: Yet Another Look-see to the Appeal of the Chapel*
There is a need to clear the air after my first work titled: 'AOCOED: a look-see to the appeal to build the College Church' and outline the implications and or resolution of the explanatory work, not a counter one. The work has been written out of my wish to create a state of harmony.
Before then, may I quickly register the inconsistency and irregularities that prompted my article. One, the appeal article was reportedly signed by AOCOED Campus Journalism, this is nothing but a blatant impersonation which contravenes the ethics of journalism unless there exist other AOCOED Campus Journalism I am not aware of.
Two, the appeal article was supposed to appeal to people's reasoning but due to lack of adequate ingredients and channel, it gave birth to unsolicited appeal. I want to assume the writer didn't perceive the adverse effect before hand.
It is to this end that I re-write in a more clear term the implication / resolution of the article. It not for any reason than creating a peaceful coexistence. Not for supremacy or jealousy!
1. The writer wants the Provost to build their church with the school money which was contributed by the Muslims and the Christians. It is not fair if put on the scale of natural law and justice.
2. The writer implored the Provost to use her office to benefit the Christains at the expense of the Muslim while forgetting that she was elected to cater for all students' needs irrespective of religion, race or tribe.
3. The writer has not gone to evaluate the Muslim community before painting issues in the air. The Muslim community too has an abandoned mosque project for almost decades now. We only hope on Allah and our supporters that the mosque will be completed soon.
4. The registrar of the school who is a Muslim never abuse his office by getting us money meant for the public rather the registrar will contribute out of his salary every Friday to the mosque project. Provost and other Christains lecturers can do so. It goes a long way.
5. That writing a public critique is not a proper way of addressing issues like building mosque or church. It is not her constitutional duties. NGO or religious body does that. Travel through the state to confirm even in prison.
6. You can only raise eyebrow if the fundamental right of your religion is being held hostage. And on this Muslim has always been at the receiving end. Evidences abound.
7. Yes, you may argue that AOCOED Students Union Building is renovated alongside the accreditation. I will urge you to do fact checking and hold unto the truth. Also, the building will benefit every student irrespective of religion or race.
8. I urge the chapel at large to take a decisive action towards completion of their religious place likewise MSSN of AOCOED because a community without God is a life of 'doom and gloom'.
9. Every leader in the community should orientate their members and be mindful of what they write or say as may have impact in the ongoing accreditation whether negative or positive. Remember, if a department fails, it affects all the students in the department.
10. Let's get ready for the forthcoming examination and avoid investing our energy in unproductive work. Our major aim in AOCOED is to graduate peacefully and get certificate, nothing must hinder it!
Starz cares
