****** It’s been three days Richard
proposed to Angela and she’s yet to yes,
… Vanessa advised him to give her some space to make the right decision,…..
Richard took his daddy to the office to
see his workers and also see how God
has expanded their company,….. Mr
Johnson was happy to be home,…. They
arrived the company a bit late,…. Only a few old workers recognized him,…. He
was introduced to all the workers,…..
Desmond was also around,….. They
spent the morning walking around the
company,….

Angela has checked her phone again,she
has been doing this for the past two
days,…. Richard had neither called nor
texted her,….. She was beginning to get
worried,…. Her mother noticed her uneasiness, but decided to ignore her,…
Her phone rang immediately she dropped
it on the table,…. She rushed her phone
and picked the call without checking the
caller Id thinking it was Richard,….
“Hello,…. Angela,….. How’re you? “A female voice said
She was shocked,.. She stared at her
phone screen and sighed seeing the
caller Id
” Tope,.. It’s you,….. “she greeted her
calmly ” Why are you sounding as if you’re not
happy to hear my voice, ….. Were you
expecting someone else’s call? ”
“Not really,. I was sleeping when you
called,.. ”
” So, hope that useless guy is no more disturbing you,…. ”
” Who are you referring to? ”
” Haba, to Richard na,.. Mr loverboy,…. ”
” Tope,….. Do you actually hate Richard
this much?,…. ”
” Errrmmm,… Not really,… You know i’m only trying to protect you,…. ”
” Then allow me to worry over him,
…..Tope pls my head is aching badly,… I
need to go back to sleep,… I’ll call you
back later,…. Bye “she said cutting the
phone She sighed loudly as she dropped the
phone on the bed,….. Her mother strolled
into her room after eavesdropping into
her conversation with her friend,…….
” Angela,… Why the loud sigh? “her
mother asked her pretending not to know,…
She sighed again
” mama pls i’m not in the mood to talk to
anybody now,.. “she told her mother
She turned to leave the room
” Ok your highness,… ” ” mama,……. ”
Her mother turned facing her,…
” Pls has Richard called you?,….. “she
asked her mother looking depressed
” Nooo,. …. Why will he call me?,…
You’ve made it clear that you dont want him taking advantage of you,… So the
young man have decided to stay away…..
. Or if you were in his shoes would you
have continued calling? “,…… Her
mother threw at her
” Mama, why are you talking like this?,…. I’m only concerned because i want to be
sure that he’s ok,…. ”
” There’s no need for that,…. Only his
loved ones should be doing that,…. ”
” Mama why are you making it look like
i’m the bad one here,…, ” ” Angela pls dont just get me angry,….
You shouldn’t be bothered about
Richard’s well being, you should be
thinking of the future of your baby,….. ”
” Mama,…. Pls stop,….. I cant stand
Richard not calling me or texting me for a day,….. Now you’re worsening my
situation,…. ”
.” If you cant stand him not calling you,…
Why cant you call him,…… Or must he be
the one to do the calling?,…… “her
mother said leaving the room Angela laid down smooching her tummy,.
. She couldn’t take Richard’s thoughts off
her mind,….

Richard and his family went out for lunch,.. His father was chatting with an
old friend that came visiting,… Richard
and Vanessa were eating on a separate
table talking about Angela,…. Richard
picked his phone and tried dialing
Angela’s number,…. Vanessa gave him a dont try it look,….
He dropped his phone on the table and
continued eating,…
They got home tired,…. Vanessa’s
husband had returned to Ghana for an
official duty,… She prepared a delicious meal,… Richard employed a maid to help
take care of the twins and the house
while they’re away in the company,…
Richard laid down on his bed thinking of
Angela,…. He was lost in his thoughts
when his phone rang,….. He was reluctant to pick it,…. He lazily stared at
the phone only to see it was Angela
calling,…. He blinked and wiped his face
to be sure of the caller,….. She has never
called him since she returned from Lagos,
… He has been the one calling her, ….. He picked the calling instantly,…..

” good evening Richard,. “she greeted
him calmly
” Why are you calling so late at night? ,..
Hope you’re ok? “he asked restlessly ” I’m not feeling fine,.. I think i need to
see the doctor,….. I don’t mean to disturb
you,…. I only called to tell you i would be
visiting the hospital tomorrow, i’ll use a
cab”she lied
“I’ll be at your place first thing in the morning,…. Dont leave the house without
me,.. ”
” There’s no need stressing yourself,….. I
can manage ”
” Am i complaining?,….. Get ready “he
ordered her ” Ok, if you say so,… Take care and good
night”she cut the phone,…..
She stared at her phone for some
seconds then smiled,……
Richard was restless throughout the
night,.. . He prayed morning would come fast for him to take her to the hospital..

Richard arrived early and drove her to the
hospital,…. The doctor confirmed she
and her baby are doing well,…… Richard
was happy to hear that,…. “I’ll quickly drop you off,…. I don’t want to
stress you,…..” he told her on their way
out of the hospital
Angela was surprised because she was
expecting him to take her for lunch as
usual,… And he has been acting funny, …. He didn’t compliment her look as he
always does anytime they’re together,…..
Now he wants to get rid of her,…..
She yawned loudly,….. Trying to get his
attention,…..
“I think i’m hungry,….. “she said smooching her tummy
He gave her a surprising look
“You’re always in a hurry to go home,….
Now you want to eat?,….”
“I’m not in a hurry to go home today, i’m
always bored at home,…. I dont do anything except sleeping around and
hiding my pregnancy from people,.. ”
” Ok, i’ll take you to somewhere you’ll eat,
…. “he said.

Tope was having a very bad day,…. First her mother spoke to her seriously about
her recent change in character,…. They
had quarelled seriously before her
mother angrily left for her shop,…… Now
her boyfriend is kneeling in front of her
begging her to accept him back into her life,…..
“why cant you understand,. I never loved
you,…. Now i’ve seen the person i truly
love,… I dont want your love again,.. Is it
now a crime to quit a relationship? “she
asked throwing her hands in the air ” Tope,.. Remember how we started,…..
So because i couldn’t afford an iPhone
6,you now think i can’t take care of you,
…. I’ve bought the phone for you now,…..
“her boyfriend begged her showing it to
her ” It’s too late,…… I’ve changed my mind,
… What i want now is a car!!!!! “she threw

eating her food and staring at Richard,…
She has finished eating and was
enjoying her drink,….. She doesnt feel
like leaving him alone,…. She wished she could spend the rest of the day with him,

“I’m sorry for all the stress i’ve made you
pass through,…” she said breaking the
silence
“It’s nothing,…… “he replied her not looking up from his plate
” Richard,…. “she called him romantically
placing her right hand on his own,…. He
couldn’t believe what was happening,…
” I’m sorry if i had been mean to you,…..
I’m sorry for misunderstanding your good intentions towards me,….. I’m ready to
marry you once your family accepts our
union,….. “she said with tears in her eyes
Richard couldn’t stop smiling ,…. He was
overwhelmed with joy,…..
She the continued ” I wanted to be sure of my feelings for
you,…. I dont want to tie you down with
another man’s baby,…. I dont want my
marriage with you to be conditional,…… I
want to marry you as the love of my life
not just as a father to my unborn child, …….. I’m sorry for hurting you,…… ”

“I dont know how possible it would be for
us to visit your family this weekend,

” My sister and daddy are at home,…. Do

so happy to meet you and to hear of our

On getting to the house,…. The cook
rushed at her…….
” Madam, you’re welcome,. Thank God
you and oga are back together, welcome back ma,… “the cook greeted her

scenario seemed familiar to her,.. She
kept on staring at the portrait of her that
hung on the wall,…
Vanessa and her dad walked into the sitting room and saw her,…… Vanessa
hugged her tightly,….. She stood still,
…… Everything and everyone seemed
familiar,….. The twins were brought in to
meet her,.. She adored them,…. She
settled down on the sofa,.. The door opened minutes later,…
Desmond and Nancy walked in,….. They
exchanged pleasantries with Vanessa
and her dad,…… As they were doing
that,…. Angela’s gaze was still fixed at
the portrait,…. She turned to see another portrait of her and Richard smiling at
each other hung on the wall,…. She was
loosing it,….. The cook walked in with a
wrapped gift,…….
“Madam,….. I’ve kept this waiting for you
to come so that i would give it to you,…. This was the gift you bought for oga,…..
You remembered the day you were
planning to surprise him With a gift,….
You walked into the kitchen to tell me of
your plan,..but Oga walked in on us and
you hid the gift beside the freezer,…. Oga carried you out of the kitchen, before
i knew it you had gone out with him,
……….. I remembered the gift one week
later and kept it,….. ”
Angela doesn’t understand what he was
talking about,…. He walked to her and gave her the gift,……. She held the gift
staring at it,…..
” So Angela and Desmond, hope you’ve
chosen a date for your wedding? “mr
Johnson asked them
The names striked her,….. Richard has been upstairs,… He went to shower
before he would dropp Angela off,…. He
came down to meet a full house,….. He
was wearing the pair of jeans and shirt
Angela chose for him when they went
shopping,…. She loves seeing him wear them,….. Angela stood up,…. She looked
from the portraits to Vanessa and her
dad, from them to Nancy and Desmond,
from them to the gift in her hand then to
Richard who was looking sexy in his
casual outfit,…. Everything then flashed before her,…… She remembered how
she met Richard, their first night together,
….. The pregnancy,….. The attack and
the taxi driver,.. Then the accident,……..
Everything came flashing before her,…..
She made a loud cry that terrified everyone,….. She screamed again, but it
was louder this time,….. She passed out,
… She meant to fall on the hard tiles but
Richard was fast enough, he caught her
on time... ...
