Sisters bond
episode 2-4

*****Episode Two ******
The cabman dropped Michael and his wife at the
front of
Alpha clinic and maternity, Michael ran into the
hospital and he
later came back with two nurses who took Jane
(Mrs Thomas)
into the maternity ward, Michael wanted to
follow them but
he was asked to wait at the reception.
Thirty minutes later Edward drove into the
hospital premises and
came down from his car and ran into the
hospital. He later came
out with two nurses who helped his wife Helen
( Mrs Jones) to the
maternity ward and he was asked to wait at the
reception.
An Hour Later
Edward and Michael were both pacing back and
forth at the
reception. They were eagerly waiting for the
doctor to give them update concerning their
wives, they tried talking to some nurses but they
just ignore them.
Thirty minutes later a doctor came out smiling
and he asked both
Mr Thomas and Mr Jones who is ”Mr Thomas”
and Michael identified himself.
Doctor: ”Congratulations! (extending his hand to
shake Michael) Your wife just put to birth a set
of twin baby girls”
Michael: (take the doctors hand and shake him)
”Thanks Doc but how is my wife doing? Can I
see her” now?
Doctor: ”Not now. She is sleeping but when she
wakes up you would be able to see her.”
With that the doctor left, then Edward went
closer to Michael to
congratulate him. Deep down Michael was
worried, thinking
of how he is going to take care of his babies
when he is only a farmer but he was grateful to
God for granting his wife safe delivery.
Edward has been restless for the past 2 hours
since his wife was
taken into the maternity ward and up till now he
hasn’t heard any news concerning her or the
baby. If you say Mr Jones was
anxious and scared at the same time you are
not far from the
truth. He has been married to his wife Helen for
10 year now and no child. He has even think of
having a second wife cause his friends always
laugh at him and he isn’t getting any younger.
He is thirty seven and he needs a heir to his
wealth. But in a few minute all that is going to
change. With that thought in mind he manage to
smile.
Just then the doctor came out smiling at
Edward.
Doctor: ”Congratulations Mr Jones (extending his
hand for a shake) Your wife just put to birth a
bouncing baby girl
Edward couldn’t happy but smile as he shakes
the doctor hand and said thanks to the doctor
but behind the smile was a hint of
disappointment. Not that
happy but he thought his wife was going to have
a baby boy
but he was happy because he is now the latest
dad on earth

A nurse came into the ward where Helen (Mrs
Jones) to check how
she and the baby were faring but when she
checked on the baby,
she noticed the baby was no longer breathing
and she had no
other option than to tell the mother that her baby
was dead
Nurse: ”Am so sorry to break this news to you
but your baby is
dead” (she informed her with a sad face)
Helen: ”That can’t be. Tell me it’s not true”
Nurse: ”I wish I could”
Helen: ”Nurse please you have to help me. I can’t
tell my husband
that our baby is dead, he is going to send me
packing.”
she can’t let her husband send her… The
disgrace will be to much to bear. The last 3
years has been hell for her cause she could not
give birth. ”nurse you have to help. Please you
can switch some ones child for me. I can’t bear
the thought of losing my child a send packing
please.”
Nurse: (with a disbelieve look) ”How could you
say such a thing ? Your husband would never
send you packing just because your child is dead
besides you are still young and can still give
birth”
Helen: ”Nurse you won’t understand”
Nurse: ”Then make me understand”
Helen: ”My husband and I have been childless
for the past ten
years and he even threaten to send me packing
if I don’t conceive by the end of three months
but God took pity on me and I was able to
conceive within that three month” (she was
already crying her balls out)
Nurse: ”I understand your pain but I can not do
what you are
asking of me” (reply with a pity look)
Helen: ”Nurse you are my only hope. Please put
yourself in my
shoes, I bet if you are in my shoes you would be
doing exactly
what am doing now” (holding the nurse hands)
Nurse: ”You may be right but what you are
asking me to do is not that easy, you need to
understand me too”
Helen: ”I know what am asking of you is not
easy but you really need to help me. Tell me
how much you need, am willing to pay
anything, just help me to make the switch”
Nurse: Okay madam but am not doing this
because of the money
but…”
Helen quickly cut her short
Helen: ”Just name your price”
Nurse: ”Five hundred Thousand Naira would be
okay” (with a smile on her face.)
Helen: ”I will give you 1.5 million naira and also i want what we are
about to do to follow us to the grave” (give her
a serious face)
Nurse: ”Okay madam. Let me go and look for a
baby I can switch
yours..” (with that she left the ward)
******Episode Three******
When the nurse came into Jane’s ward to carry
out her plan of
switching Helen’s baby with hers, Jane didn’t
notice her presence
because she was fast asleep. The nurse tiptoed
to where the
babies were kept, fortunately for her the twins
were not identical
and that would even make her plan a lot easier
since nobody
would easily notice their resemblance. When she
carried one of Jane’s babies, she quickly tiptoed
out of Jane’s ward to Helen’s own for the switch
to take place then she carried the dead child to
Jane’s ward. But unfortunately for her, Jane
woke up as she was
about leaving the ward.
Jane: ”What are you doing here?” (she glare at
the nurse with suspicious eyes)
Nurse: ”The doctor sent me here to see how you
and the babies are faring” (told her with a warm
smile)
Jane: ”Thanks nurse, we are all doing perfectly
fine.”(smiling back)
Nurse: ”That’s really good to hear. If you will
excuse me I would
like to go check on the patient in the next ward”
Jane: ”okay. Bye nurse” (with that the nurse
took her leave)
****************
Both Mr Thomas and Mr Jones were seen
patiently waiting to see
their wives and babies when a nurse came to
them.
Nurse: “Are you both Mr Thomas and Mr Jones?”
Both: ”Yes nurse”
Nurse: ”The doctor said I should tell you two
that you can now go
in and see your wives and babies” (she was
about to take her leave when Edward stop her)
Edward: ”Which ward are they?”
Nurse: ”Mrs Thomas is in ward seventeen and
Mrs Jones is in ward nineteen.”
Both: ”Thanks nurse”
Nurse: ”You are both welcome”
Immediately Michael entered into the ward
where his wife
was, a smile just was planted on his face and he
went to sit beside his wife and take hand
squeezing it gently.
Michael: ”How are you feeling now Sunshine?”
Jane: ”I have never been better in my whole life.
Am now a proud
mother of two” (as she grin from ear to ear)
Michael: ”Likewise me, am now a proud father of
twin babies” (brush his hand against his wife
cheek).
Jane: ”Sweetheart! Have you thought of the
name you are going to name them?”
Michael: ”I thought you said you were going to
name them January and February?” (smiling)
Jane: (laughing and playfully hitting her
husband) ”I said April and May not January and
February. I have always love those names and I
even made a promise to myself that I am going
to give my daughter one out of the two names
but since God blessed me
with twins instead am going to give them the
two.”
Michael: ”I love the names but I preferred
Phoebe and Precious
to them”
Jane: ”I love Phoebe but I don’t like precious”
Michael: ”We are here busy debating on the
names we are
going to give our babies when I haven’t even set
my eyes on
them.”(turning to look at the cradle)
Michael walked to the cradle where his babies
were kept but
when he got there he noticed that one of them
was not moving
or breathing, he instantly became scared and his
wife noticed it.
Jane: ”Honey: What is wrong, why is fear written
all over your face?”
Michael: ”It’s one of the babies” (gritting his
teeth with fear in his eyes)
Jane: ”What is wrong with her?” (as tear roll
down her cheek)
Michael: ”The baby is not moving or breathing. I need to go
call the doctor for him to tell me what is wrong
with her” (he said
and rushing out of the ward)
When Michael left the ward, Jane began crying
and praying ” God please don’t let anything to
happen to my child, please don’t allow my baby’s
fate to be from cradle to grave l. I know you
didn’t bless me with the fruit of the womb only
for you to take her away from me some hours
later.”
Few minutes later Michael came with the doctor
but when he
checked on the baby, he saw that the baby was
already dead and
he had to break the bad news to them.
Doctor: ”Am sorry to break this news to you but
your baby is dead” (he said with his face full of
sympathy)
Jane: ”Doctor please tell me it can’t be. I think
am dreaming
someone should please wake me up.” (seizing
the doctor and crying).
Doctor: ”You have to be strong Ma’am. Accept
my heart felt
condolences”(with that the doctor left the ward)
Michael: ”Sunshine you heard what the doctor
said that you have to be strong.(pulling her in a
tight hug) What happened has happened, no
amount of
tears would bring her back to us”
Jane: ”So this is how life is? Few minutes ago I
was the most happiest woman on earth but now
I’m the saddest”(crying on his shoulder)
Michael; ”Don’t talk like that, we still have the
other twin and we
need to be very strong for her. God alone knows
why he took her
back”
Jane: ”You are right. God knows best and we
also need to be
strong for April”
Michael: ”Wow! You have already named her
April”(smile at her)
Jane: ”Yes I did, I told you before that I made a
promise to name
my child April or May”
Michael: ”April is a nice name. May God Grant
you long life April Thomas (he said then he
kissed her on the cheeks)

********Episode Four***********
Edward walk into his wife ward. He could help but
smile since the news of his wife birth.
Edward: ”How are you feeling now dear?” (sitting
on the bed beside his wife)
Helen: ”Am still in pain but anytime I remember
why am in pain, all my pains would just
disappear.” (a little smile played on her face)
Edward: ”Thanks Sweetheart”
Helen: ”For what?”
Edward: ”For making me a complete man and
the most happiest being on planet” (he planted a
kiss on her forehead)
Helen: ”Am not the one you are suppose to
thank but God Almighty who took pity on me and
bless me with the fruit of the womb after you
threaten to send me packing if I don’t conceive
within three months”(she said the last past a bit
sad)
Edward: sighted and took her hand ”Am really
sorry for threatening you, and being so harsh on
you throughout those ten years of childlessness”
Helen: tears rolling down her cheek”You really
hurt my feelings, you treated me as if I was the
giver of children even when you late mother
called me a barren woman you didn’t defend me”
Edward: ”Am really sorry for treating you that
way and I promise to make it up to you”
Helen: ”Really!”
Edward: ”Yes dear, Just tell me what you want
and it shall be
granted”
Helen: ”I want you to start making it up to me by
buying me that
diamond necklace I told you I really loved but
you refuse to get it for me”
Edward: ”What is so special about that diamond
necklace you can’t get your mind off?”
Helen: ”Remember you just made a promise to
me that you are
going to grant any of my request and this is the
one I want you to
grant”
Edward: ”I almost forgot. I am going to buy it for
you just
because I made a promise to you not because I
like the necklace”
Helen: ”Thanks love. Have you thought of a
name you are going to name our baby?” (turning
to look at the peace baby on the cradle)
Edward: ”Honestly speaking I haven’t” (looking
away from his wife with shame)
Helen: ”And why is that?” (she asked with a
raised eye brow)
Edward: ”I thought you were going to give birth
to a baby boy
that’s why I only thought of a male name little
did I know you
were going to give birth to a baby girl”
Helen: ”Are you trying to tell me that you ain’t
happy I gave birth to a baby boy?” with sad
expression
Edward: ”That’s not what I mean”(trying to calm
her down)
Helen: ”Then tell me what you mean”
Edward: ”You are taking this the wrong way
dear, I was only
saying I would have been a lot happier if you had
given birth to a
baby boy.”
Helen: ”I can’t believe you are the one saying
this, after ten years of
childlessness you have the guts to say you
would have been happier if I had given birth to a
baby boy. Just tell me if you don’t want her and
I would gladly take my baby and leave your life
for good”
Edward: ”It haven’t gotten to that dear. Am sorry
if I have offended you with my outburst”
Helen: ”You didn’t offend me and I shouldn’t be
the one you are apologizing to but God”
Edward: ”Am going to ask God for forgiveness
(with an assuring smile) but I want yours
first”
Helen: ”You are forgiven”
Edward: ”Thanks love and I think I have the
perfect name am going to give our daughter”
Helen: ”What is the name? I just hope am going
to like the name”
Edward: ”Am very sure you are going to love the
name” grinning
Helen: ”Okay let me hear the name”
Edward: ”I won’t tell you the name” (smiling)
Helen: ”Why dear?” (looking at her husband
confuse)
Edward: ”I want you to guess the name
Helen: ”That’s not fair”
Edward: ”What is not fair?”
Helen: ”You asking me to guess the baby’s
name when you know
am a very terrible guesser”
Edward : ”I know but just give it a try am very
sure you are going
to get it right”
Helen: ”You want to name her Stella after your
late mum”
Edward: ”No”
Helen: ”Phoebe”
Edward: ”You are still wrong, try harder I know
you are going to
get it right”
Helen: ”Are you sure?”
Edward: ”Very very sure” with a grinning widely
Helen: ”Yvonne”
Edward: ”Hell No! You know I hate that name
with passion”shaking his head
Helen: Elizabeth
Edward: ”You guess wrong dear”
Helen: ”You know what? I give up”
Edward: ”Think harder dear”
Helen: ”Am not thinking again”
Edward: ”ok let me give you a hint I am naming
her after someone very close to you”
Helen: ”Wait a minute! Don’t tell me you are
naming her after my
deceased mum” looking surprise. She didn’t think
her husband name her daughter after her mum.
Edward: ”Yes dead am naming her Kimberly after
your late mum”
Helen: ”Thanks love. You are so sweet” giving
he husband a kiss
Edward:”Remember I made a promise of making
it up to you
and that’s exactly what am doing”
Helen:”Thanks for keeping to your words. You
are the best husband on earth and I love you”
Edward: ”And you are the best wife on planet
earth but I love you more.”pulling his wife and
the mother of his child into a tight but gentle
hug.
