***********Episode Eighteen*********
The director came on stage and took the mic
and he began to give his speech.
”I am not even suppose to give a speech here
today because the principal and the teachers
have already said what was needed to be said,
am only giving a speech here today because i
have an announcement I want to make. My
announcement here today is that the school is
going to give one student in this set a
scholarship. This idea was not mine but the
principal’s, when the
principal came to me with the idea, I went home
to sleep on it and I find the idea to be a good
one. The idea the principal brought to me was
that we the school management should prepare
an exam that is a waec standard which was the
exam you student wrote a month before your
waec and the student that will be able to get
2As, 3Bs and 4Cs will be will be sponsor in the
university by the school and only one student
was able to meet up with the cut off grades and
that one person is Miss April Thomas”
When April heard her name been called by the
direction, she thought maybe she must be
dreaming wide awake and she even told one of
her classmate that was sitting beside get to
pinch her but instead the classmate told her to
go and meet the principal because the principal
has been calling her name for the past two
minutes, that was when April knows that what
she heard the director said earlier didn’t happen
in her dream but in reality.
April got up from her seat to go and meet the
director but what
she didn’t know was that the school
management had another
surprise waiting for her.
When April got to where the director was
standing,he gave her mic to give a speech
which she did, when she was through she
decided to go back to her seat but the principal
stopped her and
told her that the school have another surprise for
her.
The principal took the mic and announce to
everybody at the hall
that April was chosen as the best student in
their set by the
teachers and it was also his honour to present
this laptop to April as a gift from the school
management.
April was very happy not just because of the
scholarship or the
laptop given to her but because she didn’t
disappoint her parent
and the principal. She was happy that both her
parents and the
principal will be proud of her
Michael and Jane were sited in the graduation
hall with smiles on
their faces. They were both asking God what
they must have done good for him to give them
such a amazing girl as a daughter. Since Michael
and Jane have gotten married, they have never
been so happy like today and they were both so
proud of their daughter April.

Kimberly is very happy that she was given a
laptop as the best
student in her class and she was very happy that
she now own a
brand new laptop not that her parents couldn’t
afford buying her a laptop but her mum had say
she won’t be making use of a laptop
until she gets into the university but now that
her school has given her one she knows her
mum wont be able to stop her from using it. She
was also happy that she was able to make her
parents so proud of her.
Kimberly was still happy thinking about her gift
when she remember that she haven’t set her
eyes on Liza for the past one
hour so she decided to look for her Kimberly has
been searching for Liza for the past 20minutes
yet
she haven’t see her and now leaving Kimberly to
wonder where she could be. Kimberly was about
giving up and turning to leave before she heard
someone sobbing silently so she decided to
check who the person was. When Kimberly trace
where the heard the silent sobbing from, when
she got to where the person was, she find out
that it was her friend Liza that was sobbing.

*****Episode Nineteen*******
When Kimberly saw that the person crying was
her friend Liza,
she went and sat down beside to know why she
was crying.
Kimberly: ”Why are you crying Liza?”
Liza: ”Nothing”
Kimberly: ”How can you tell me nothing when I
find you here
sitting all alone crying your eyes out?”
Liza: ”What is today?”
Kimberly: ”Today is our graduation”
Liza: ”Are your parents not here with you?”
Kimberly: ”They are here with me”
Liza: ”Then why are my parents not here with
me?” (Liza feel her parent doesn’t care about
her, thought they provide all she need for her,
they don’t show her parental care. All the do is
work. Travel from one country to the other, while
they leave in the care of their househelp.)
Kimberly: ”Maybe they were busy with work”
Liza: ”Is that reason good enough”
Kimberly: ”It might be depending on the nature
of their work”
Liza: ”Is their work more important than me?”
Kimberly: ”No”
Liza: ”My parents are not here today because
they don’t love or
care about me”
Kimberly: ”Don’t say your parent don’t care
about you because
they might have a good reason for being absent”
Liza: ”The only reason that could be good
enough is if they were
dead”
Kimberly: ”Please don’t wish your parents death”
Liza: ”I won’t, I wish them death when they ruin
my graduation”
Kimberly: ”Your graduation can be ruin by them
if you let them”
Liza: ”You are right”
Kimberly: ”So cheer up up girl its our graduation
so let’s enjoy it to
the fullest” (clean the tears from her eyes)
Liza got up and the two girls started singing
”girls wanna have fun by Cyndi Lauper” as they
headed back to their graduation party.
It was already 9pm and the party was just about
to end but Kimberly’s parent send their driver to
picked Kimberly up from the party. She had
refuse go with them when they were going
saying she want to stay some more and catch up
with her friends.
When Kimberly got home she met both her
parents in the living
room patiently waiting for her and you can tell by
the look on their faces that her parents were not
happy about her coming home late.
Helen: ”What were you still doing out this
late?” (turn to her
husband) ”I told you that we should leave the
party with her when all parents were leaving the
party but you refused saying i that I should allow
to catch some fun with her friends but now look
at
the time she is coming home”
Kimberly: ”Mum the time is only is just 9:30 not
12 midnight for
crying out loud”
Helen: ”Will you shut up there my friend?”
Kimberly: ”Mum today was my graduation that
was why I said out late so I don’t see any need
for you yelling at me as if am still a baby”
Edward: ”We are know that today is your
graduation but that
doesn’t give the right to stay this late because
your curfew start
by 7:00pm. And secondly the way you talked
back at your mum was rude”
Kimberly: ”Am sorry dad, I promise never talked
back at her rudely again”
Edward: ”Apologize to your mum not me”
Kimberly: (knee beside her mum)”Mum am
sorry”
Helen: ”Its okay my dear. You can go to your
room and freshen up then you can come down
for your dinner”
Kimberly: ”Am still full mum. I will just freshen
up”
Helen: ”Go and freshen up then you go to bed
straight”
Kimberly said ”goodnight” to her parents then
she went to her
room to freshen up but she didn’t go to bed
straightaway just like
her mum have instructed, instead she called
John about scolded him
for not calling to congratulate her
